Wineries & wine exporters

Accept crypto payments at your winery

A winery is three businesses sharing one bank account, and each one breaks a different part of the payment stack: an export operation invoicing importers on the other side of the world, a cellar door whose customers are all foreign because they flew in, and a wine club that dies quietly every time a card is reissued. Meanwhile the money went out at harvest and the wine sells two years later. Invoices with an expiry set to the loading date, payment links for the pro-forma deposit, a POS QR at the tasting room, subscriptions for the club, and one CSV that pays the growers, the pickers and the cooperage — non-custodial, straight to your own wallet.

AWS AgentCore payments x402 went GA — agents can now meter what they buy, and the seller side is the bottleneck

On August 18, 2026, AWS made Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments generally available, letting agents discover, access and pay for paid APIs, MCP servers and content with a few lines of code, using Coinbase and Stripe Privy wallets. Three things landed at GA and they point the same way. Support expanded from x402 alone to x402 plus the Machine Payment Protocol, so the buyer stops betting on a single standard. The x402 'upto' scheme arrived, letting an agent authorise a ceiling and the seller settle the actual consumption — metered pricing for machines, per the x402 Foundation spec where the amount field means 'maximum authorised' at verification and 'actual amount' at settlement. And spend caps moved into the infrastructure layer as payment sessions with a maximum amount and an expiry, validated deterministically before any payment is authorised. The tell is in the fourth announcement: the discovery experience shipped as a curated list, ranked on social proof, metadata richness, description quality and availability. You curate when supply is thin. x402.org's own dashboard says the same thing — over the last 30 days, 94.06K buyers against 22K sellers. The buyer side of the agent economy is finished infrastructure. The seller side is a dashboard away, and almost nobody has walked through it.

Funeral homes & repatriation

Accept crypto payments at your funeral home

A funeral is the only purchase a family makes in forty-eight hours, and the people paying for it are very often in another country. The son in Madrid, the sister in Miami and the cousin in Santiago each send a share; the wire lands in three days, short, and the service is on Thursday. Payment links sent to relatives abroad, invoices with an expiry set to the service date, a POS QR at the counter and one CSV that pays the florist, the crematorium and the receiving firm overseas — non-custodial, straight to your own wallet.

Bank-issued stablecoins: 39 state banking groups announced a blockchain, and a 2027 date

On August 25, 2026, thirty-nine US state bankers associations announced the BankChain Alliance — an industry-owned blockchain network for tokenized deposits, bank-issued stablecoins, smart payments and automated settlement, targeting a 2027 launch. The scale in the announcement is real: the associations represent 3,283 banks holding $21.8 trillion in assets, per FDIC Call Report data as of March 31, 2026. So are the two blanks. There is no technology partner yet, and no individual bank has publicly committed as an owner. This is an analysis of what the announcement actually says, why the banking industry is building it, and why the merchant question is not which consortium wins — it is whether the money from a sale lands somewhere you control, today, on a Saturday, from a customer in another country.

Event venues & promoters

Accept crypto payments at your event venue

A venue pays the headliner's deposit months before a ticket is sold, spends on production before the doors open, and then waits on an acquirer that treats advance ticket sales as future-delivery risk. Door and bar sales on a POS QR, ticket pre-sales through hosted checkout, private-hire deposits by link, and one CSV that pays the artist, the techs, the security team and the bar staff the morning after — non-custodial, straight to your own wallet.

The agentic commerce trust gap: 85% will let an AI agent shop, 10% will let it pay

Mastercard's Signals report "Encoding Trust", published August 3, 2026, put a number on the ceiling everyone in agentic commerce has been talking around: 85% of consumers are open to shopping with an AI agent and 74% will let one complete a task on request, but only one in ten will let an agent finish a purchase on its own. The same report forecasts $3–5 trillion in agent-assisted consumer spending by 2030 — and puts B2B at potentially three times that. Those two facts point in the same direction. The half of agentic commerce that doesn't need a human's blessing to buy is the half where the buyer is a machine and the product is a machine input: an API call, a dataset, a lookup, an MCP tool. There, permission isn't a psychological problem — it's a spend limit set before the run starts. This is an analysis of why the trust layer exists, what it's compensating for, and why an agent paying USDC on Base over x402 answers the same question with a receipt instead of a framework.

Accept crypto payments at your art gallery

A gallery closes a large share of its year in five days at a fair, in a country where it doesn't bank, selling five-figure works to collectors who are also foreign — then owes the artist half. Fair-booth sales, reservation deposits, online viewing-room editions and consignment settlements in stablecoins, settled non-custodially to your own wallet, with one CSV for artists, handlers and consignors.

x402's record week: Solana takes 38%, and Ramp hands agent wallets to 70,000 businesses

The week of August 17, 2026 was x402's busiest of the year: 8.7 million agent payments, more than double the week before, per Token Terminal. But the composition is the story. The Base monoculture is over — Base fell from 93% of transfers at the November 2025 peak to 48%, Solana climbed from 6% to 38% — and on August 20 Ramp switched on x402 for its 70,000+ business customers, giving corporate AI agents funded, governed USDC wallets. The buyer side of agentic payments keeps industrializing, one platform per week. The scarce side is still the same: endpoints that answer a machine with a price.
